- First thing first, check your oil. Your gas mileage will be better if you have fresh oil or so the men in my life tell me!
- A bottle of water
- Google maps print out, Atlas of the area you’ll be driving through, GPS. Basically all the things that will help you get to your destination and get unlost if you happen to get lost.
- Favorite foods!
A while back, I asked on my Facebook page for your favorite travel foods. Here’s a list to inspire your own travel yummies.
– combination bag of nacho cheese Doritos, Cheese Puffs, Potato Chips, and Pretzels
– A can of black beans (edible both warm or cold)
– Potato Chips, Chocolate, and Iced Coffee
– Clif Bars
– Dried Mango, Coconut-rolled Dates, Cheese, or Chips
– Chocolate, Chocolate Cookies, Chocolate covered Peanuts
– Goldfish Crackers, Dried Fruits, Nuts.
– Baby carrots
- Fight sleepiness with phone calls to friends and family (I also will sometimes bite the inside of my mouth, but I don’t really suggest this).
- Make yourself a travel music playlist.
- Audio books or Podcasts, but make sure they’re interesting and entertaining; otherwise, you may find yourself zoning out with some nice background noise.
- If the trip is really long, perhaps choose a pit stop at a truly scenic spot for a leg stretch.
Bonus: If you’re a girl, wear a fun lipstick just because you can. I get way too much fun from wearing sweatpants with a bright lip!
