I think most of us stumble into January a little bit holiday hungover, and January feels like such a downer. It’s the beginning of a long trek of a year before we can reach the holiday season again. Or maybe that’s not how you feel? I don’t know. This is me just observing and thinking.
Or maybe, January is the month where you start out on your life-changing resolutions, but it ends a few weeks later when routine and old habits catch up, resulting in guilt.
January, the month of complicated feelings and supposed new beginnings, is a weird month for all of us.
What I’m Being Inspired By
Current Jam:
A lot of songs have been on my repeat playlist. I can’t seem to get enough of music with a bit of Latin flare or happy-sounding music with sad, sad lyrics. This is where you’ll find me.
Current Food:
Does coffee count? How about the vibes from a particular coffee shop? I absolutely LOVE Reginald’s Coffee that’s located in an old historic schoolhouse near where I grew up. It’s the most charming spot, and I hope that it stays for a long time.
Current Read:
Maybe by the time this post is published, I’ll have started reading this book by Rachel Held Evans. But it only seems appropriate to point out that this is January 2020 Inspirations, and this book is called Inspired. Coincidence? Okay, not really.
Current Obsession:
I am obsessed with this drawing that Gabrielle Burke did of me on aerial straps. If you want to follow her on Instagram, here she is! She does all sorts of amazing work for artists, businesses, and more so check her out! Check out GabrielleBurkeArt.com!
Current Quote:
Is it okay for me to really appreciate my own writing? I’ve been exploring how feelings feel in my body, and it’s been a fun little exercise. I’d like to share more elsewhere, but I’m mostly exploring them on Instagram right now.
