Welcome, Fall! With your slow crumble into crunchy colored leaves and chilly zephyrs playing about my ankles. Me? I’m not quite ready for your arrival, but I do look forward to wood-scented bonfires with marshmallow charcoal stuck to my lips.
And I have a faux leather jacket that I sling across my shoulders on crispy cool days. So, welcome, September!
What I’m Being Inspired By
Current Jam:
First of all, I love this album artwork. But Lauren Daigle’s powerhouse vocals sweep this song into a whole other category. It’s both reminiscent of Adele and gospel music. What do you think about it?
Current Food:
Lemon Parmesan chicken with cheese-stuffed tortellini and asparagus topped with homemade pesto. Okay, you know that moment when you’re like, “Hello, Little Brother, you grew up.” This meal. Right here.
I will be moving in with him and his wife just to eat his cooking (okay, I’m kidding. Don’t freak out, brother).
Current Read:
Girl, Wash Your Face showed up on my doorstep. Literally. Some people drunk-online-shop…I have the same problem sober with books. Okay, okay, but I actually didn’t order this one for myself. A lovely friend read it and loved it so much that she had to share it with me.
I’m so glad she did because I love the way Rachel Hollis shares her fight against the lies she (and we) believe.
Current Obsession:
Okay, yes, circus. BUT DO YOU SEE THOSE LEGGINGS? I’ve never branched out to such a light colored legging before (because butt sweat), but these Fabletics 7/8 clay-colored leggings have stolen my heart.
I’m trying to determine how many times I can wear them before someone says, “Girl, wash your leggings.”
Current Quote:
I LOVED THIS BOOK, and I wanted to fit it into three of the categories for this Inspiration post. I finally settled on this one because a quote really just jabbed me under the ribs, lung level.
“If you never get sadness, how do you know what happy is like?”
I hate loss. I loathe grief. And yet, I know that those times where I’ve walked the desert path of sadness have deepened the joy of happiness and layered me more human. And though I would never choose to walk those pathways again, I don’t regret them one bit.
P.S. Teal Paisley Tights (my very own novel) is now on Goodreads. I’d totally love it if you’d go add it to your To-Read Shelf!!
