Oh, hello, December! What’s not to love about this month? We blink and it’s over, but mostly that has everything to do with the flurry of shopping, holiday events, and visiting that crowds our calendars.
What do you love most about December? Really, I want to know!
I adore the Christmas music, and I kind of love the excuse to spend too much money on loved ones. I’m breaking my budget right now…which is a questionable decision, I know.
What I’m Being Inspired By…
Current Jam:
I love Pentatonix. Maybe it comes from growing up in a Southern Baptist church where we sang lots of hymns. As a kid, I really grew to appreciate the beauty of human voices harmonizing. But I also adore Hallelujah (A Light Has Come) and Light a Candle.
Current Food:
This is the season for Christmas cookies. Oh, baby, oh baby…Molasses Crinkles (or Ginger Snaps) are my jam. Sure, I love all the other ones, too, but I just love these gingery, dark cookies.
Current Read:
Okay, if you know anything about me by now, it’s that I’m constantly reading. And I struggle to keep all my lists updated. But TODAY, I want to share with you two books that are being released this December!!
The Thorn Healer by Pepper D. Basham
This book releases in only 5 days! Yes, on December 6th, you’ll be able to purchase your own copy of this delightful book. I’ve read it already, and I absolutely and totally love it. I feel very much like Jessica Ross in this story.
Wrapped in Red by Meghan Gorecki
Okay, I haven’t read this Christmas novella yet, but I love how Meghan has set the story up. I mean, what could be better than a Christmas love story set in Pittsburgh??? Wrapped in Red will release mid-December!!!
Current Obsession:
Guysssss, I can’t stop. I’m smitten with aerial silks. Sometimes when I daydream, I pretend that I’ll be a professional aerialist someday who also writes books. Doesn’t that sound dreamy?
Current Quote:
I’ve been reading through Rising Strong by Brene Brown (you should read it!), and I read this quote and I had to stop and reread it. You can think of someone…I can think of someone…we can all think of someone we understood a lot better when we watched him or her deal with hard times.
Merry Christmas, Friends!
As you journey into this month of December, where it will be over in a blink and you’ll be vaulting (or plodding) into 2017, may you rise strong from the learning experiences, the emotional upheavals, and epic face plants that have attacked you from the side.
May new strength and bravery be yours.
