Ah, July–the month that feels to be of endless summer with watermelon kisses, sweaty hugs, and firecracker night skies. I hope you lean into all the goodness of this season, whatever it may look like for you.
Eat a second burger for me!
What I’m Being Inspired By
Current Jam:
While I tend to prefer to listening to YouTube for my music, this week I’ve been listening to Spotify (just the free version) a lot, and I’ve enjoyed the new music that I’ve come upon. The sound of this song makes me think of summer. So while I don’t encourage smoking and stuff, I do love hanging out on patios!
Current Food:
Over two years ago, my brother told me about this cute little restaurant, Irrawaddy Poke, in downtown Pittsburgh, and so we went. I love the fresh ingredients. Basically, it’s perfect for summer eating (and all year eating). It’s light and delicious but filling. Thank you, Hawaii, for coming up with this deliciousness!
Current Read:
I joke that books just find me. And it’s true! Whether I’m receiving a review copy, borrowing a book from the library (or friend), or someone gives me a book…books just find me. My roommate brought this one home for me, and I’ve finally moved it to the top of the pile. Who else is intrigued by Cleopatra?
Current Obsession:
I am OBSESSED with sitting out on my little porch/balcony, especially for breakfast. I love the temperatures at that time and the chirpy world of birds. (Okay, but birds can be SO loud) The only downside about this arrangement is that I don’t have any porch furniture (my own fault).
Current Quote:
Today, we’re going to have two. So, enjoy.
I think sometimes it’s too easy to be focused on where we want to be rather than just being present with where we are now. Appreciate the little things and the growth in every season.
Do you ever wonder how your perspective might warp what you’re experiencing of reality? We all have a viewpoint, opinions, experiences that frame how we see things. Sometimes I wish I could shed my ideas and tinted perspective to see what is truly REAL.
