So I’m late. Better late than never, right?
It’s never too late to be inspired and to think in a bigger way. We live in a culture that offers inspiration at every turn whether it’s your hipster coffee shop or your pinterest account.
Hilarious memes bombard our lives, and I’m not complaining. I saw this meme recently, and I’ve been sending it to my friends. So now, I share it with you.
But my true inspirations this May have come in the form of friends. I had the pleasure of visiting a few friends before finally ending up at my new “home base.”
I picked up a nugget of wisdom from each couple. And I’ll share them with you!
Current Jam:
This song is my new favorite to listen to as I drive into summer. It’s beautiful lyrically and musically. It’s also rocketing this artist onto the world stage.
Current Food:
My friends in Colorado introduced me to this divine noosa yoghurt. I’m snobby when it comes to yogurt, and this stuff is amazing. Tart lemon had me thinking of a lemon meringue pie. If you see it in your grocery, grab it off the shelf. Seriously.
Wisdom Nugget: My Colorado friends unknowingly impressed upon me the beauty of intentionally treating loved ones with kindness and thoughtfulness. You may love someone, but you need to show it actively.
Current Read:
If you haven’t read my opinions on Bride of a Distant Isle, I think you need to open a new tab right now. I’m still thinking about this book, and it’s amazing layers and intriguing villain.
Current Obsession:
My friends in Arizona didn’t mean to challenge me on my perception of fair trade, environmentally-conscious purchases, or organics. But they did. So here I am following Patagonia on instagram and perusing their website. Ooo, this dress is cute! I’m being inspired by individuals who are trying to better the world as they can.
Wisdom Nugget: My Arizona friends unknowingly showed me the importance of quality over quantity.
Current Quote:
I’ve been musing long on what the difference is between “kind” and “nice”. (Post to come on Thursday!) I think joy also is an illusive quality. People say you can choose joy, but it’s more substantial than happiness, which often directly correlates to the day’s circumstances.
Wisdom Nugget: My other Arizona friends unknowingly exhibited an underlying joy to every part of living even in their chaotic and sometimes frustrating days.
As you finish your May, I hope that you intentionally care for those around you, that you choose good stewardship of your resources, and that you discover underlying joy even in life’s stickiness.
