Who doesn’t love October? I’m not sure what it is about this month that just feels crispy cool and all the variations of orange from brilliant to faded. When the calendar page flips to October, I can taste the pumpkin pie and apple cider.
So join me for this little post of inspiration to celebrate fall.
What I’m Being Inspired By
Current Jam:
I’ve loved every version of this song that I’ve heard. And if we’re talking about celebrating the gradual shift into fall weather, then this is the song for you and your autumn days. Be sure you seek out the non-acoustic version too. It’s magic.
Current Food:
Sourdough bread baked by a friend and gifted to me was the most wondrous of surprises for my October 1st. Nothing is better than homemade bread, and since I don’t eat bread too often–this is TRULY an indulgence of the best sort. So delicious.
Current Read:
If you love Gilmore Girls, you need to listen to Lorelai, I mean Lauren Graham, read her autobiography about her experience with the show. It is everything to hear it in her voice, and I amused myself even further by listening to it at a faster speed! I also tend to think of Gilmore Girls as an Autumn/Winter show because I watched most of it during those seasons!
Current Obsession:
I’m obsessed with the laughter of photobooths…and the potential vanity of them. I honest to goodness just love these photos so much. But my favorite part was thinking that only the bride and groom would know that I’d snuck into the photobooth by myself. Nope, the guy who ran the photo booth knew it too! Duh. Hahahah.
Current Quote:
YES PLEASE. I love this beautiful description of fall in conjunction with food. Yum. Part of what I love about seasons is the seasonal food celebrations, whether that means outdoor barbecues or sprawling Thanksgiving meals.
May your October be filled with new hope, even as the trees undress from their colored, crinkling gowns of leaves. Walk in the unabashed beauty of the season.
