Each new month carries hope for me — perhaps I’m slightly crazy for that. But, I keep hoping for better, and I keep hoping for refreshment. And while a part of me is like, “WTF it’s September already????” The other part of me is like, “Wow, I just need another restart, and here’s September, offering me that restart.”
September, a new month and the beginning of a new season, offers so much.
What I’m Being Inspired By
Current Jam:
YouTube sometimes knows me better than I know myself. And it plopped this song down in the middle of a meandering black hole of music, and it grabbed my attention. The lyrics are a bit dark, but it’s the beat that I can’t shake.
Current Food:
I know you all have heard me obsess about Hello, Hummus, but like really, it’s THAT good. And they often have a huge selection of salads as well. I really, really love their hummus and their salads. It’s a weekly treat for me, and if I can’t see them at my favorite local farmer’s market…then I stalk their calendar and find them at the next one.
Current Read:
I’m so excited to be reading The London Restoration by Rachel McMillan. The book arrived in the mail, and I’m only a few chapters in. If you haven’t read Rachel McMillan yet, you need to put her on your To Read list as soon as possible!
Current Obsession:
Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. Starbucks released this drink alongside their PSL, and I think the true winner of the season is definitely the cold brew. I love that it’s not quite as sweet as the latte that America is obsessed with (okay, okay, the truth is that every country I’ve ever visited in Autumn also loves the PSL).
Current Quote:
Earlier this summer, I read Michelle Obama’s autobiography, and at one point, she described a friend of hers with the line “happiness was her currency.” And that line has just been bouncing around in my head. What a wonderful thing to say about someone, and what does it mean — all at the same time!
